Burkhard Wagner

Burkhard Wagner is a Managing Director of Kienbaum Management Consultants GmbH. He is in charge of Kienbaum’s entire strategy consulting division and heads the Financial Services and Industry sections. His key areas of interest lie on strategic consulting for financial service companies, with a strong focus on issues of process optimization, marketing and sales as well as the innovative application of information technology. He also supervises the Due Diligence and Post-Merger/Post-Acquisition Services groups.

Burkhard Wagner has gained a Master of Business and Engineering (MBE) degree from the Technical University of Karlsruhe. During his studies, he focused on leadership/organization, marketing, operational research, and computer science. He has more than 13 years of experience as a consultant and in positions of responsibility.

Before joining Kienbaum Management Consultants, Burkhard Wagner was Managing Director and Partner at DiamondCluster International, where he was in charge of Financial Services in Germany and European IT-strategy consulting. His efforts were essential in establishing both areas of business.

Prior to this, he spent seven years as a consultant at Roland Berger Strategy Consultants. During that period, Wagner’s duties included the development of restructuring concepts for leading international financial service providers and worked on innovative distribution issues for high-profile clients in the service industry. During his academic studies and beyond, he also gained additional operational experience as a Managing Partner of the DSE project development GmbH, where he was responsible for sales, primarily in business liaison with major banks.
