20 years of Kienbaum in Asia

Celebrating success in Singapore and Shanghai

20 years ago, Franz-Josef Kleideitert stepped on a plane bound for Singapore “to see what we could build in the region.” Many years and lots of experiences later, he is now heading no fewer than three busy offices in the Far East: Shanghai, Bangkok, and Singapore as the regional headquarters with a total of 30 members of staff. Coinciding with the 20th anniversary of Kienbaum in Singapore, our office in Shanghai also celebrates 15 years of success: More than enough reason to party and for Franz-Josef Kleideitert and Fabian Kienbaum to join the celebrations at both locations in the second week of September.

High profile guests and great vistas

Their first destination was Singapore, where Kienbaum and the German Chamber of Commerce hosted a very special lunch session. Fabian had a chance to meet and greet our Asian business partners, who enjoyed the occasion for a personal meeting and were impressed by the history of Kienbaum.

The main course was followed by a presentation by Fabian on the topic of New Work and a Q&A session, with high profile stakeholders including Audi, BASF, Boehrigner-Ingelheim, Edwards Life Sciences, Bayer, HOYA, Kaercher, Rehau, and Sigos.

For the evening’s formal dinner, we were honoured to welcome the German ambassador and the director of the American Chamber of Commerce in Singapore. The next day on the whirlwind tour took our delegation to Shanghai for the anniversary celebrations with our Chinese business partners. With the city’s impressive skyline as a spectacular backdrop, the event was attended by representatives from Knauf, Low & Bonar, BASF and others as well as the director of the German Chamber of Commerce and the head of mission at the German Consulate General.

Neither the celebrations nor the success of the last twenty years would have been possible without our colleagues in the region. The anniversary was a fantastic opportunity to raise our profile in their markets and acquire important new commissions – onward and upward for the next 20 years!
