In the course of the project, we carried out a comprehensive review of the office’s administrative organization to identify possible ways to optimize organizational and operational structures and to put these into effect. Based on efficient task analysis, we were able to provide qualitative and quantitative recommendations regarding staffing. Additionally, job descriptions and performance assessments were described based on improved target conditions and categorized according to the German public institution pay rates (TV-L). A particular challenge for this project was to harmonize processes across administrations that had operated independently up to that point and to communicate with the full-time employees and volunteers of the congregations/parishes. In subsequent workshops we were able to work together with the Church Office to optimize its business procedures. This became the basis of job assessments and performance evaluations. We were also able to support the team in implementing the proposals, including holding six information sessions in the parishes.
