As a major manufacturer of savory snacks, the success of Intersnack is highly dependent on a well-constructed, precise and efficient supply chain, and intelligent solutions. With major investments planned for all Intersnack sites up to 2020, the organization had the ambition to optimize its way of working in order to increase employee engagement and operational excellence. In their change management process, decision making and autonomy was shifted to those closest to the line. Therefore, Intersnack was not looking to implement a one-time project but rather change the culture and leadership on a healthy long-term basis. With the purpose to tackle this challenge, Intersnack, together with Kienbaum, implemented the Intersnack Working System (IWS). Initially, Kienbaum provided theoretical insights, which aimed to establish a common understanding of change management and leadership. With the following coaching and training sessions, Kienbaum helped to develop necessary skills in servant and situational leadership. Diverse techniques such as role plays, business cases and group discussions allowed participants of the Intersnack management to discover and practice strategies of effective communication and leadership interactively.
