Global HR strategy for Siegwerk Druckfarben

The Customer

Siegwerk is a market-leading international manufacturer of printing ink for newspapers, periodicals, catalogs and all types of packaging. The company, with headquarters in Siegburg near Cologne, has always been family-owned. With over 180 years’ experience, Siegwerk has extensive product knowledge and expertise regarding many printing processes. A total of 5000 employees work for the company, in organizations across 30 countries.

The Project

In the area of human resources management, Siegwerk is faced with the challenge of implementing a modern HR strategy for a globally active family-run company. To develop this structure, our team of consultants worked together with the HR office in intensive workshops to identify future areas of activity and core challenges for an internationally oriented HR function. Trends within and beyond the sector such as digitization, demographic change or world political crises play a large role in determining a strategic orientation for such areas as recruiting and talent management, and these must be taken into account. These provided a foundation for formulating and testing the strategy and are currently the basis of day-to-day HR activities at Siegwerk.
We were searching for a partner in developing our HR strategy. It was great to receive the advice I needed from Kienbaum within the scope I needed. Kienbaum did not try to sell me a huge project, rather they listened to me and supplied what was required.
