Kienbaum Accelerator for Ernsting’s Family

The Customer

With over 1800 stores, an on-line presence that has received multiple awards, and approximately 12,000 employees, Ernsting's Family is one of the largest cross-channel retailers in the German textile market. In the 2016/2017 Financial Year, the Coesfeld-Lette (Westphalia)- based company generated gross revenues of EUR 1.12 billion. Ernsting’s Family offers fashion and accessories for the entire family, specializing in ladies’ outerwear and children’s clothing.

The Project

In the wake of the digital transformation, the goal of Ernsting’s Family was to align its technological processes and day-to-day business operations with changing competitive and customer structures. This highly complex plan was to be systematically developed together with the team within one year and defined as a project proposal. Successful implementation depended on the simultaneous commitment of those responsible. The existing business model was scrutinized and the culture at Ernsting’s Family was reinforced to carry out the digital transformation.

Capitalizing on the special effects of the Accelerator Method, we were able to achieve success in defining the problem. The method assists companies wishing to implement projects and strategies that demand speed on the one hand and rely on the knowledge of a broad segment of their workforce on the other.

Today, the manner in which we execute the strategy from day to day and the way we communicate with each other have undergone remarkable change and improvement.
