One year after the keenly debated law on “gender quotas” and one year before the end of the first reporting period, BDI and Kienbaum have conducted research on how companies are faring with the statutory gender proportions. What targets have they set for themselves, what challenges are connected to these, what perspectives have been opened up? Through quantitative data collection and qualitative interviews, we have sought to address these questions.

The study indicates the following: Even outside the new legal requirements, the topic of women in leadership positions has gained speed: Planned increases of three to four percent in operational leadership positions over the short initial reporting period illustrate that many companies are on the way.
